Weekend Fun

Warning: This is not a post about Twilight, though I did see it and like it. Sorry to dissapoint. If you have any interest in the Flinstones, tourist traps, or the wonders of the world, stay tuned.
Welcome to Bedrock City, the most incredible tourist trap I have ever experienced.
Here is an artist depiction of the fun you are about to enjoy.
For only $4 a person Derek and I enjoyed all of what you see here. As the lady at the entrance said "it is the off season so it's only $4 but the train is not running. It is still very interesting though, even without the train" I thought "interesting" was a hilarious choice of words and knew that this was a must see - train or no train.
Tada! Can you believe that we were the ONLY people here?

Derek gained a bit of weight but fit right in!

I seemed to have lost weight a lot of weight without compromising the roundness of my hips...

Here we have Fred's house. A self led tour of his house was included in the price, just as advertised.

Inside the dentist office. Dangerous.

Derek peeking out of the Jail

Picking up some mail at the...

Post Office

The creepiest part:
Hair Salon

Absolutely strange bone hair styles...really strange.

The local market, today's special: cactus juice

Also included in the advertised price: picture with Fred. Check.

An unexpected surprise: The Goatasaurus
very rare

As a side note, we also went to the Grand Canyon. You didn't think that I was suggesting that Bedrock City was a wonder of the world did you?
It was, as expected, grand.

Here is a depiction of what you are about to enjoy:

The price for this view $25. I thought that this was a lot of money for something that belongs to God, who would never charge me $25.

Pack mules which are cool becuase no one has ever fallen in the canyon while riding a mule (a lot have fallen in who were not) but are not cool becuase if you are a bystander you are supposed to stand against a wall and hold still "becuase they bite you when they smell food". Though, you know, I don't know if I believe this. This warning was posted on signs but really, I think they just don't want to deal with people. After all they are mules, not blood thirsty tigers, and if they're so hungry, why dont' they just feed them more often and let people pet them?
For $25 a petting zoo should be included

The train (to make up for the lack of one at Bedrock City)

So that's it! The next time you have an extra $25 (+ $4 per person for Bedrock city) I suggest going to the Grand Canyon. The next time you have and extra 1,000 lbs. of plaster, I suggest creating a replica of a famous cartoon city - complete with train.

WOW!!! I didn't know that AZ had Bedrock City as well. Derek is crazy! I would have thrown up if I were even 10 feet from the edge. Please tell me there was pexiglass in between him and the Grand Canyon

Hey man. Me and mom think you are super funny! You started our morning out with a laugh. Mom's favorite is the hair salon. I am only wondering if you even said "Yabba, dabba, doo" when you were there?

Hi- this is very weird I know-- but I am trying to get a hold of Michaela (formerly Judd)-- we are good friends and I have lost her number. She called me in September to tell me she was getting married and I haven't been in touch since. I googled her and found your blog. Please give Michaela a message that Amy Nilsson is trying to get a hold of her. My email is thenilsson6@msn.com
