So I always love reading other people's "cute comments" from their children and I decided that it would be fun to share some of my "funny student comments" to show how fun it's been being a teacher.
The first test I gave my freshman class had these instructions:
"True or False: Put a + for true and a 0 for false" (this is to keep kids from doing the artistic half "t" half "f")
4 tests came back with this for answers:
1. 0
2. a +
3. a+
4. 0
5. a +
I LOVED this. I'm sure they were thinking, man I have no idea why I should put an "a +" but I guess since true things are good they get an "a +". They took things so seriously! (notice the past tense, they're pretty over being serious now)
One student from another class had her cellphone taken away for texting while taking a test. After class she came back to see if Mrs. Peterson would give her the phone yet, when Mrs. Peterson said that school policy is two days so she'll keep it for 24 hours to be nice (which still meant getting it back the next day) the girl asks to call her mom. We innocently assume that she needs a ride home right....WRONG. So she calls up her mom and says "mom they took my phone away and won't give it back until tomorrow. Can they legally do that to me?" After about two minutes of silence the girl left the classroom with tears running down her face.
Apparently she didn't anticipate her mother thinking that this was legal
An exchange student from Norway was responding to a discussion about divorce and was explaining how she has a friend in Saudi Arabia whose husband would be required to keep paying for his wife to have a comfortable life if they were to get a divorce. Mrs. Peterson piped in to ask "well don't women have to basically just do what they're told there and stay all covered up" Ingrid says confidently " well that's what I thought but she sent me this video titled "want to know what's under my dish dosh, and whoa" (dish dosh = the covering thing they have to wear) The class of coarse lost it and now refer to anything of that nature as being under the dish dosh. (probably had to be there for this one)
There have been many more but those are all I can think of right now!

COL (chuckle out loud.) So, are you moving to Heber? Neat.
that's the great thing about teaching. you always wind up with a million funny stories to tell. at least your kids don't stick your hand in their mouth or poop in their pants (literally) twice in one day.
ben
shouldn't it be "an o" not "a o"?
