Spring Break

Well things are starting to change as the pregnancy progresses. Kelly and I discovered that two pregnant people can't walk through the pantry door at the same time. (this picture was taken at 21 weeks)
For Spring Break I headed to Palm Springs. Unfortunately the hospital doesn't have a spring break so Derek had to stay home and work. It was a bummer to go without him but I really needed the break from student teaching. We spent a few days seeing the sights including the beach, Sheild's Date Farm which has been around since the 1920's and features a film on the romance and sex life of the date. (really scandalous footage of date trees... the funniest part was that two old people appeared to be watching the entire movie, who watches an entire documentary on dates...)
It is great being pregnant at the same time as my sister. Everywhere we went people would say, oh my gosh are you guys sisters! and you're pregnant at the same time! how fun!

Here my Dad is a happy little clam at PGA where he was able to play golf. I realized as we drove up that this is the golf course featured on Soarin' over California where the golf ball comes up and almost hits you, I was thrilled.

I really enjoyed the beautiful plants in California soaking up the sun. (Derek texted me a picture of the blizzarding weather in Pinetop the day this was taken)

The view from the patio of our room, it was a really cool place that had been around since the 1920's as well (probably gave the date farm a run for it's money)

One of the CA highlights, the windmills, I LOVE them and took tons of pictures, I'll spare you though

I also discovered the bottle brush plant which can also be a tree, so pretty!
It was a fun trip that made returning to Pinetop weather and school quite the rude awakening.
I also missed Derek way too much and really would prefer not to go without him again.

Just as long as I am not the only one stuck in snow and crappy weather. Sorry for Derek, fun for you to see the sun!
