Happy July!

Time for some major catch up! I can't believe it's July already but I am SO glad that it is. I just can't wait for Cooper to be here and really hope that he does arrive in July!

Derek and I took a trip to California as a happy graduation / "babymoon" trip. We went to Newport Beach for the first several days and stayed with Cullen and Jenny then headed to San Deigo for a few nights to see those sights. It was a great trip and we saw so much! We did all of our favorite things which includes T.K. Burger, Jane's Corndogs, Red Mango plus did new things like get donut holes, go to Laguna, go to Balboa, and more, it was so fun!
We were walking out on the pier to Ruby's diner and saw a whole group of sea lions just playing so close, it was so cool, we've never just seen sea lions so close in like that before!

Our first stop in San Diego was the zoo of course. We were first greeted by this large peacock.

We decided to take the bus tour first to see the sights then walked around for the rest of the day. In the afternoon the Galbasini's joined us for more zoo fun.

The zoo had recently opened up their new elephant (among other things) exhibit which has an awesome area you can walk around and see the caregivers taking care of the animals. It was a really well done area of the zoo.

Derek with a camel who's hump is falling over - odd.

My two favorites were the polar bears and the hippo, with the hippo being my most favorite. He kept walking laps under water (without ever coming up) and would come right by all of the underwater veiwing part.

The next day we walked over to the USS Midway which was really enjoyable as you can tell from Derek's face above. It's a giant aircraft carrier that took us over 3 hours to tour! This is the view from the top deck. There was so much to see and it was just incredible how such a giant thing can float!
The last day we went to Mission Beach before heading home and ate a place called the Wave Yard which had the best breakfast burrito ever created that Derek was brilliant enough to order. They had a couple of those wave machines where you drop in and practice your surfing type tricks, it was really cool.

Fun trip!
