Proud to be a Flake

Way back in July we traveled to the far away land of Snowflake for the giant Flake Family Reunion.
I didn't take many pictures but thought I would share the highlights of this fun tradition.
The Sam and Rula Flake family (derek's grandpa) attends the reunion every other year. The reunion is held every year for everyone who has had, will have, wishes they had, or does have the last name Flake.
Our branch of the family takes over the Silver Creek Inn where we make a giant circle of about 50 people in the parking lot and play Mafia all night. (which lead to some disagreements) We enjoyed going to the Flake Family rodeo where Christina MC'd like a pro. (which lead to a disagreements by someone outside of our immediate family branch) Enjoyed the Flake Family picnic on the James Madison house lawn (which lead to some disagreements...by me, I was so hot and hungry) went boutique shopping (which may have led to some disagreements about what was purchased) attended the parade where every ward in the town makes its own personal float. (I seem to remember some disagreements about how wet people got from the firetruck). We had so much fun. I amazed at how fun it is just to be in Snowflake with everyone. It's such a small town but there is never a dull moment when all of the Flakes are there!
There may be little scuffles here and there the but those moments mixed with the laughter, memories, long visits, games, and traditions are what makes us such a unique family.
We love this reunion and anxiously await it every two years. There is nothing like being together with a big family, catching up on everyone's lives, meeting their newest family members, and eating tons of cookies.
